AEO + GEO · AI search readiness

Make every important page extractable, citable, and fixable.

Surgbly checks what crawlers can reach, what an AI system can extract, which evidence supports the page, and where the citation gap actually lives. The result is a grounded Fix Pack, page brief, or Influence Plan with verification attached.

Readiness is shown as individual checks and evidence, not one opaque score or a promise of permanent rankings.

AI visibility is a chain of checks, not a single content score.

A page can be well-written and still fail because a crawler cannot reach it, the answer is buried, a schema claim is unsupported, or competitors have the proof sources an engine trusts. Each failure needs a different route.

The crawler cannot reach the page

Robots rules, WAFs, status codes, redirects, or JavaScript-only content can prevent an answer engine from receiving the facts at all.

The answer is hard to extract

Skipped headings, long mixed-claim paragraphs, unclear entities, and buried definitions make a page difficult to quote cleanly.

The proof is missing or unsupported

Authors, reviewers, sources, statistics, original data, product facts, and media context need visible evidence behind them.

The missing source is external

Review sites, directories, communities, LinkedIn, and comparison pages can influence citations even when the owned page is sound.

How this feature works

From the first crawl to a verified recovery path.

Each stage produces evidence that the next stage can use. Deterministic checks lead; AI assists with classification, briefs, and bounded candidate changes.

01

Capture raw and rendered reality

Fetch the page with crawler context, compare raw HTML with rendered output, and keep the evidence needed to reproduce the finding.

Raw and rendered observations stay separate so a browser view cannot hide a crawler delivery failure.

02

Check extraction structure

Evaluate the macro page structure, meso section structure, and micro sentence clarity that help an engine extract a standalone answer.

The direct answer target is 40–150 words, with one clear claim per block and no skipped heading levels.

Validate entities, schema, and proof

Match structured data and visible claims to authoritative page facts, including authors, reviewers, products, organizations, images, videos, and transcripts.

A missing credential or quote becomes a request for customer evidence, never an invented claim.

Compare answers, freshness, and citation sources

Keep provider, model, prompt version, locale, sample size, freshness, mention, citation, and citation URL as separate observations.

Provider-specific weighting changes priority, not the underlying evidence or the truth of a finding.

Route the gap to the right deliverable

Owned-page access, content, schema, entity, and server-rendered issues become Fix Packs. The customer can choose CMS, GitHub, or Snippet delivery for the owned-site change. New-page and live-page work becomes a brief. External authority gaps become Influence Plans.

The product never treats a third-party review, forum post, or publisher mention as an owned-site deployment.

Validate, deploy, re-crawl, and measure

Every owned-site change gets a diff, claim support, policy decision or approval, pre-change snapshot, technical verification, and a post-deploy answer or crawl rerun.

The selected CMS, GitHub, or Snippet surface gets its own verification plan. IndexNow or other approved re-crawl submissions are delivery steps, not proof that rankings or citations will change.

Key capabilities

The detailed checks behind AI search readiness.

Extraction structure

  • Macro, meso, and micro readability checks
  • 40–150 word answer-first blocks for quotable responses
  • Question-matched headings with no skipped levels
  • One-claim blocks, inline definitions, attribution, and repeated entity names

Evidence and trust

  • Authors, reviewers, organization identity, publication dates, and methodology notes
  • Statistics, named expert quotes, original examples, screenshots, and case studies
  • Person, Organization, Product, Article, ImageObject, and VideoObject checks
  • Transcript requirement for video evidence and visible-content matching

Visibility and sources

  • Separate mention, domain citation, citation URL, position, prominence, and sentiment
  • Freshness, sample size, variance, provider, model, locale, and prompt version
  • Review sites, directories, communities, LinkedIn, publishers, marketplaces, and owned sources
  • Provider-aware priority policies for validated engine differences

Fix and verification guardrails

  • Direct answer, FAQ, schema, entity, crawler access, sitemap, canonical, and rendered-content fixes
  • Customer-selected CMS, GitHub, or Snippet delivery with explicit capability limits
  • GitHub source-file changes and optional edge delivery treated as implementation details, not extra choices
  • Style-conformance review for reader-facing generated content
  • Claim support, deterministic validation, approval policy, snapshots, rollback, and audit history
  • Re-crawl submission and same-prompt outcome measurement after delivery

Business outcomes

What changes when readiness becomes an explainable workflow.

A readable page, not just a valid page

The team sees exactly which structure makes the answer hard to extract and what content should move or be clarified.

Proof requests instead of invented authority

Missing credentials, quotes, statistics, and outcomes become explicit customer evidence requests with a review path.

The right owner gets the right work

Owned-site changes, content briefs, platform tasks, and external Influence Plans remain separate and accountable.

Delivery and impact stay separate

A fix can be technically verified, re-crawl submitted, and still be marked unchanged or inconclusive until evidence says otherwise.

Why Surgbly does it better

A complete evidence chain instead of a readiness score.

Traditional

  1. 1One opaque AI visibility or GEO score hides the failing layer.
  2. 2Content advice assumes missing proof can be generated.
  3. 3External citations are treated like owned-site edits.
  4. 4A deployment is called successful without a post-change check.

Surgbly

  1. 1Access, extraction, evidence, citation, and freshness checks stay separate.
  2. 2Every factual change carries claim support or asks for customer proof.
  3. 3Owned fixes, briefs, and Influence Plans route to different owners.
  4. 4Raw/rendered delivery, re-crawl, answer reruns, and outcomes are recorded independently.

Questions

Answers before you have to ask.

How can an owned-site fix be delivered?

You choose CMS, GitHub, or Snippet. CMS uses a supported provider connector, GitHub opens a validated repository pull request, and Snippet publishes a signed or allowlisted artifact similar to an Alli AI-style integration. Source-file belongs to GitHub mode, edge/proxy belongs to Snippet mode, and Surgbly never silently switches your choice.

Does AI search readiness guarantee citations?

No. It verifies the conditions that affect retrievability, extraction, evidence, and citation opportunity. AI answers remain point-in-time observations with provider-specific variance.

What does the 40–150 word answer block mean?

It is a practical target for a self-contained, quotable answer near the relevant heading. Surgbly checks whether the block answers one question directly and remains supported by the page facts.

Can Surgbly create expert quotes, reviews, or credentials?

No. Missing proof is surfaced as an evidence request or an Influence Plan. The product does not invent authority or publish third-party claims.

What is provider-specific weighting?

The same gap may be prioritized differently when validated provider behavior differs, such as freshness or source-type sensitivity. It changes the work queue priority, not the underlying observation.

What happens after a Fix Pack deploys?

Surgbly verifies the technical delivery, can submit an approved re-crawl request, reruns the same answer or crawl checks, and records improved, unchanged, worsened, or inconclusive outcomes.

Can third-party citation gaps be fixed automatically?

No. Review sites, communities, LinkedIn, publishers, and other external sources become Influence Plans or Platform Tasks for a person or approved partner to execute.
